HF 197 – Adult Day Services Certification

HF 569 – Licensure of Substance Abuse Counselors

 

FLOOR ACTION: 

HF 197, as amended in on the floor, extends the initial and renewal certification of adult day services from two to three years. Fees are unchanged. This bill is effective upon enactment and retroactive to January 1, 2013. Adult day services are one form of home and community based services designed for persons with complex physical, cognitive or developmental disabilities. Services are provided to avoid costly placement in institutional settings and provide respite to caregivers. [4/8: 50-0]

HF 569 establishes state licensure of substance abuse and addictive disorders counselors under the Board of Behavioral Science. New licensure requirements are to be implemented by January 1, 2015.
