Prevent Child Abuse Iowa is kicking off a month-long campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of child abuse and how to prevent it. Watch for the blue pinwheel as the symbol of the great childhood all children deserve.

Children raised in loving and supportive environments are more likely to do better academically, be more financially successful, and contribute more to society. But kids who experience abuse, neglect or household dysfunction are at greater risk for poor health and learning and behavior problems. The more adverse experiences a child is exposed to, the greater the risk of long-term negative consequences.

Here are some ways you can do your part to help ensure all kids get the great childhood they deserve:

1. Speak Up. Share why you support child abuse prevention through your social media.

2. Do a Good Deed. A compassionate community builds the environment children need to thrive.

3. Display Your Support with a blue pinwheel, the symbol of the joyful, carefree childhood.
