Twenty-four locations around the state now house Motor Vehicle self-service kiosks, where Iowans can renew or replace their driver’s license and ID cards. The kiosks offer customers convenience, choice and control by making government services more accessible and saving taxpayer time and money. You can renew at a kiosk if:

  • You have a valid Iowa driver’s license or ID.
  • You are at least 18 but younger than 70.
  • It is within 180 days of the renewal date on your current driver’s license or ID card.
  • You are a U.S. citizen and an Iowa resident.
  • You do not have a condition that would impact your ability to drive.

A complete list of kiosk locations, as well as traditional driver’s license issuance sites, can be found at www.iowadot.gov/mvd/ods/dlsites.htm.
