Iowa’s Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP) assemblies are taking place this fall, giving Iowans a chance to improve outdoor recreation, soil and water, historical resources, land management and more.

Meetings will begin with an open house at 6 p.m., followed by the assembly at 6:30 at the following dates and locations. For more information, go to www.iowareap.com.

Each assembly represents a region of counties. Participants must attend the assembly for the region in which they reside. Issues can be brought forth and voted upon, and delegates selected to attend the REAP congress in January at the State Capitol in Des Moines.

Each year, the Legislature approves funding for REAP, which goes to local projects through a grant process. Since the program debuted in 1989, more than $300 million has been awarded to more than 14,500 projects.
