COMMITTEE ACTION:
SSB 1048 requires a separate resolution to increase the pay of county elected officials, requires all forms of compensation to be voted on annually, and bans severance payouts for county elected officials. [2/4: short form]
SF 19 requires the most recent federal census to be used in determining the population of a city. Current law requires a city having a population of 8,000 or more according to the 1980 census and having a paid fire department or a paid police department to appoint a civil service commission.
